Finalmente riesco a ritagliarmi un po’ di tempo per parlare delle mie incursioni in E, e nel dettaglio della mia aggiunta al modulo di configurazione dello sfondo, che permette di vedere e scaricare direttamente dal web sfondi per il proprio desktop analizzando un feed RSS.
Il sito maggiormente supportato e’ get-e.org, ma ho gia’ mandato una mail alla mailing list di sviluppo contenente una patch che consente di effettuare direttamente delle query a Flickr.
Mentre nel caso di get-e.org si scaricano i wallpaper statici o animati gia’ in formato EDJ, per Flickr, e piu’ generalmente per i siti che forniscono un feed RSS per immagini, il modulo provvedera’ a scaricare l’immagine scelta, mentre il lavoro “sporco” di conversione in EDJ verra’ fatto dal modulo import.

Here’s my first experience with E17’s internal widgets.
I wrote a simple addon for wallpaper’s configuration dialog in order to be able to get images from web in one click (at the moment the only available is get-e.org, but i’ve flickr and deviantArt in mind). I’m sorry for poor video quality (1st experience with screencasts), here’s the link to original AVI.

Dopo qualche mese di lavoro, ecco un paio di immagini (di bassa qualita’, purtroppo) che finalmente mostrano una applicazione, basata sulle librerie ETK, funzionare out-of-the-box sulla mia scheda ARM.
Il passo successivo e’ quello di far funzionare il touchscreen in modo da poter interagire con l’applicazione, per ora il sottosistema di framebuffer di Ecore non gestisce le tslib, ho comunque una patch da testare.

Hi all, i’m back, and i’m very productive! I’ve just released, or really submitted to the mantainer, my patch for easy_e17. What is easy_e17?
Is a fabulous shell script that allows to build a desktop based on Enlightenment, fully-featured, useful and updated, very easily: it fetch ad update the sources from cvs, and install all in the right way. All highly configurable. What lacked, IMHO? The possibility to set custom configurations, and in detail the capability to enable by default the framebuffer support for ecore and ecore-evas, features required by my project. And here’s my patch!
